Medical Evaluation & Risk Assessment

Physicians, toxicologists, industrial hygienists and other professionals in Medical Evaluation and Risk Assessment (MERA):

Determine if exposure to chemicals detected in fish would pose a health risk, issue fish consumption advisories as necessary, and work to protect public health through investigation and risk analysis of fish kills.
Design and conduct studies to determine the risk to human health from various environmental sources. (See Facts & Figures.)
Provide medical and toxicological evaluation of risk to human health from environmental hazards.
